I've known about body doubling for a long time and used to use it more before covid by working with people in the same room so I could key off of them, but as a programmer who now works from home I gotta be honest with myself and this sucks.  Even when we do zoom calls (about once a week) no one turns on their cameras and my boss is so hands off that I may talk with her once a month.   Any other work from homers interested in setting up a zoom session for the workday so we can body double each other?

I'm an accountant, and I work from home.  I was diagnosed with ADHD just a few months ago, and I'm tired of the deadline-driven boom-and-bust cycles that I've been putting myself through for years... it's exhausting.  I'm searching for a way to get myself to put in regular, productive hours well ahead of the deadlines.  I am interested in body doubling but have never done it.  I'm also in my 50's.

I have some re-arranging of my workspace to do before I even think about putting anything on camera, haha, but could start this Friday (June 10th).  I'm in the PDT time zone.

What hours do you prefer to work, and are you looking for someone to body-double for a full 8 hours, or would shorter sessions be acceptable as well?

@kat Hey!  Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  I just returned from visiting friend outside of the US for 3 weeks.  I'm on the East Coast.  Shorter sessions would be fine.  Part of what I find is that the hard part is actually getting going... once going a momentum builds.  If you want we can figure out what works best for both of us.
