The Discord has been seeing a lot of new users despite not seeing those same users here. If this is all you're seeing never fear, there is a community on Discord and we welcome you there (as well as here)!

So I think that the user registration issue with the site is now resolved (I hope?) Please let me know here if it is now working - if not then let me know on the Discord server - thanks!
